MAGLOCKS

There is no magnetic attraction between the maglock and the plate.

Make sure the maglock is being powered by a DC source and the polarity is correct. In the case of an inverse polarity, the maglock won’t be damaged, but it won’t work either.  Once you confirm the maglock is wired properly, check the power voltage using an ammeter, it should show the correct input voltage. If the ammeter prompted the unit meter correctly that means that the magnetic lock is being powered properly. So, you should check the installation of the product or the mounting of the plate.

The maglock is not holding and/or not working how it should.

First check if is there any object that may be causing interference between the maglock and the armature plate. Then check the plate to see if it is mounted in the proper position. If the magnet or the plate is not mounted correctly, they can’t align with each other and the maglock won’t hold together. If this is the case, reinstall the product matching both components to see if the locks works well.

The maglock doesn’t release the door by pushing the exit button.

When power is interrupted using an exit button, the magnetic lock must release the door. If this doesn’t happen, check the wiring connection between the exit button and the magnetic lock. If everything is setup properly, then verify that the access control system is getting the proper voltage using an ammeter.

The maglock has a weird noise while it is operating.

Check the access control components, make sure all the wires are properly connected. It may be faulty or have been installed in the wrong way. Verify that the power voltage is properly setup for the access control system using an ammeter.

ELECTRIC STRIKES

The electric strike works intermittently.

Check the transformer to verify that the output voltage is at the listed rating, then make sure that the power source can handle the current draw of all electrical components in line with the power source. Verify that the power wires leading to the electric strike are large enough to handle the current requirements.

The electric strike is not locking the door.

Open the door and energize the electric strike, if this works properly then check that the lockset may be binding. To resolve this problem make an adjustment to the lockset and the electric strike, to remove the biding between the bolt of the lock and the electric strike keeper.

The electric strike is not receiving power.

Check that all wiring connections are securely made. Measure the voltage at the strike and make sure 12/24VDC is present at the strike. Also verify that there is no load against the strike lip.

The electric strike doesn’t buzz.

To make the electric strike buzz it needs to be at AC model, otherwise, if this is as DC will operate silent. Check the transformer to make sure is applying the proper voltage and amperage.

ENTRY DEVICES

Does the keypad have a master code? Where can I find it?

Most of the Visionis keypad have a master code, this by default is #888888*. You can find it I the handbook under the Master Operation section. Please note, this is for the VIS-3000, 3001, 3002, 3003, 3004, and 3005. For all others, please refer to the user manual.

I’ve already registered the code but the keypad doesn’t recognize it.

Make sure you follow all the steps to complete the proper code registration. If after this, the code doesn’t work, try to register the code following the handbook instructions. You also can reset the keypad to its factory settings and complete the process again.

How can I remove all the pin codes registered in the keypad?

You can complete a factory reset following the instructions listed in the user manual, under the section Reset to Factory Default.

The keypad/card reader has power but is not working at all.

Check to make sure that all wiring connections are securely made. Verify the power voltage is properly setup for the access control system using an ammeter.

The card reader doesn’t recognize a registered card/key tag.

Make sure you follow all the steps to complete the proper card/tag registration. If after this, the card/tag doesn’t work, try to register the card/tag following the handbook instructions. You also can reset the keypad to its factory settings and complete the process again.

EXIT DEVICES

In the push to exit reference, the exit button doesn’t release the door.

Make sure the exit device is properly connected into the access control system. Verify the wiring connections and if the voltage is setup properly. At the door, check that there is no material between the magnetic lock and the plate that may be blocking the door.

On the No-Touch Exit Button, waving something in front of the button doesn’t release the door

Make sure the LED color is Red which means the device is powered on and in standby mode. If the LED button is white, that means there’s no power reaching the device. To solve this problem check that the wiring is connected as recommended in the user manual and also verify that the power source is providing the adequate voltage to the access control system.

The exit button is getting power but the LED is not working.

Check to verify that the wiring is as recommended in the user manual and also verify that the power source is providing the adequate voltage to the access control system.
